The Freedom Within: Journeying Beyond Physical Existence - Isaac Cherian, Registered Psychologist

Imagine your consciousness as a vast and boundless sky, stretching endlessly in all directions. In this metaphor, your consciousness represents the realm of true freedom. It's a space where limitations are few, and possibilities are as numerous as the stars in the night sky.

Now, picture your body as a bird in this sky. When you identify solely with your body, it's as if you've confined yourself to the cage of that bird. Yes, the bird can soar to some extent, experiencing a limited form of freedom within the confines of its physical boundaries. It can fly from branch to branch, exploring its immediate surroundings.

However, the true essence of freedom lies beyond these limits. It's when you realize that you are not just the bird, but the entire sky itself. It's when you recognize that your consciousness is not confined to the physical vessel of your body. This realization is like opening the cage and allowing the bird to become one with the boundless sky.

In this state of expanded consciousness, the constraints of the body fade away. You're no longer limited by its aging, its physical abilities, or its vulnerabilities. Instead, you become aware of your limitless potential, your capacity to transcend the earthly concerns that often weigh us down.

Freedom, in its deepest sense, is the experience of shedding the illusion of being solely a body. It's recognizing that your consciousness is the source of true liberation. You're no longer confined by the walls of your physical form, and you can explore the vast expanse of possibilities that exist beyond those limitations.

This expanded consciousness allows you to embrace life with a sense of profound freedom. You're not held back by the fear of what your body might encounter or endure. Instead, you navigate life's challenges with grace, knowing that your true essence remains untouched by external circumstances.

In summary, the experience of freedom is most profound when we recognize that it resides within our consciousness, beyond the identification with our physical body. It's the difference between being a bird in a cage and realizing that you are the entire open sky. True freedom lies in this expanded awareness, where limitations melt away, and the boundless potential of your consciousness becomes your reality.
